The owner of the subdivision shall be responsible for the installation of the main lines, valves, service connections and the fire hydrants within the subdivision consistent with city standards and requirements set by the city engineer. Fire hydrants shall be so located that each lot is within a reasonable distance of a hydrant as determined by the Fire District No. 5 chief or his/her representative. The city engineer or the public works superintendent shall be responsible for inspecting the installation prior to connection to the city’s water system and final acceptance by the city.
