Article V. Application for Regular Water Service When Main Extension Required

The following rules are established for making main extensions:

A. Application. Any owner of one or more lots or parcels of land desiring the extension of one or more water mains to serve such property shall make a written application to contain the legal description of the property to be served and any additional information which may be required by the city and be accompanied by a map showing the location of the proposed connections.

B. Investigation. Upon receipt of the application, the city shall make an investigation and survey of the proposed extension and shall report its findings to the council, including the estimated cost thereof.

C. Ruling. The council shall thereupon consider said application and report and, after such consideration, reject or approve it.

D. City Lines. All extensions thus provided for, in accordance with these regulations, shall be and remain the property of the city.

E. Dead-End Lines. The city shall permit dead-end lines upon a finding that such is reasonably necessary to serve a property or properties and is not unreasonably deleterious to the water system. [Ord. 910 Art. 5, § 1, 2016; Ord. 878 Art. 5, § 1, 2015.]
