A. A vehicle impounded under the provisions of this chapter may be redeemed by its owner or by the person in charge of the property from which the vehicle is removed before a sale or disposition has taken place by applying to the chief of police. The person shall:

1. Submit evidence of his ownership or interest in the vehicle to the chief of police.

2. Pay the costs due and owing at the time the application to redeem is made.

3. Give evidence that the nuisance character of the vehicle will not be allowed to be resumed.

B. Upon compliance with subsection (A) of this section, the chief of police shall execute a receipt and cause the vehicle to be returned. [Ord. 919 § 11, 2016; Ord. 888 § 11, 2015; Ord. 748 § 11.]
