No person shall plant on any public property or private property the following trees if the tree’s future critical root zone (CRZ) at maturity (CRZ is defined in TMC 18.100.020) is within the public right-of-way: poplar, willow, cottonwood, fruit tree, or ailanthus, unless part of a city-authorized riparian restoration project. The recommended street tree list should be consulted before any tree is planted within or adjacent to the public right-of-way.
