There is hereby created an advisory committee to the Talent city council to be known as the Together for Talent committee. The primary purpose of the Together for Talent committee shall be to make recommendations to the Talent city council on matters pertaining to general sustainability of the city of Talent, including but not limited to: promoting sustainability; honoring the city’s agricultural heritage; promoting gardening and increasing the tree canopy; utilizing integrated pest management practices and natural pollination; reducing waste generated by the community; preparing for the impacts of climate change; and generally improving the appearance and livability of the city. As used in this chapter, “sustainability” means the biologic sense of scientific methods that remain diverse and productive indefinitely, but also in the broader sense of preserving and building community. The committee shall have the authority to adopt bylaws that govern the committee’s meetings and proceedings.

The committee shall also perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the council. [Ord. 930 § 1, 2016.]
